Add a Tab to Another Space

Reuse a tab elsewhere: add the active tab to another of your spaces, and edits made in either place appear in both.

Sometimes a tab you built in one space belongs in another too: a glossary, a shared timeline, an architecture board two projects both rely on. Add to Another Space adds the active tab to another space you own, without leaving the editor.

Adding a tab to another space

Open the tab's menu (the ⋯ button on the active tab, or right-click the tab).
Choose Add to Another Space.

In the Add to Another Space dialog, pick the destination. Each space shows as a tile with a preview of its canvas, and the filter box at the top narrows a long list. A message confirms when the tab has been added.

The option is greyed out when there is nowhere to add the tab to: if this is your only space, until you create another, and in a canvas in This Browser. It isn't offered to Viewers or Participants, or on a link shared for one tab.

Add to Another Space opens a dialog of your other spaces, each with a preview of its canvas, and a filter box to narrow the list.

One tab, shared between spaces

Add to Another Space doesn't make a copy: it is the same tab in both places. Edit its elements, restyle it, or rename it from either space and the change lands in the other as well, a few seconds after you stop editing. If the other space is already open in another window, reload it to see the latest edits. If the tab is edited in both spaces at once, the later edit is the one both keep. A tab can be in up to 20 spaces at once.

Two things stay per-space, so each space can organise the shared tab its own way: the tab's position in the tab bar, and which tab folder (if any) it sits in.

Removing the tab from one space doesn't touch the others; the tab and its contents are only deleted for good when you remove it from the last space containing it. Deleting a whole canvas works the same way: while it waits in the Trash its shared tabs stay in step, and once it is deleted for good they stay, with their contents, in every other space they are in. Taking a space offline tells you first how many of its tabs are shared: they stay in the other spaces, and the copies in this browser stop sharing edits with them.

Prefer an independent copy you can tailor per project? Use Duplicate in the same menu first, then add the duplicate to the other space.
